[Noms from lunch at Brick Oven. Love lady dates with my mama. We have had the best talks this week. She is my best friend.]
[Because it’s never too late in the day for a heartrendingly adorable, pudgy eight-year-old in a fedora, to roll through your study session at the city library and make it eight times better. Bless you, child. You make me nearly forget how terrible this semester really is.]
[Saturday, I got to judge region drama. And I went in feeling pretty unqualified, since it’s been years since I acted. I was more nervous walking to my first round than I ever was competing in region back in high school. Turns out it’s like riding a bike. I was so moved by the pieces I saw and loved playing with those talented kids. It was inspiring.
Also, I pulled up in the parking lot next to my friends Emma and Niki and we made eye contact and started laughing. We were like, “You went for hot and intimidating too?” Yep. Blazer and heels and actual makeup.
After a lovely morning/afternoon of that, we spent our night at City Creek, blowing our money and peer-pressuring each other into purchases. Sometimes, you gotta do it. Whilst shopping, we found some Asian tourists in matching Hawaiian shirts… you can only guess how that thrilled me.]
[Sundays inspire me. Also. they are a great time to self-evaluate. I set some new study goals this week, for both school and mission prep. It also snowed and it was MARCH 24TH, people. The only logical response was bacon and brinner.]
[I loved putting the finishing touches on this painting for Emma’s birthday. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterful final lines in the Great Gatsby. MAN, I love painting. And Emma.]
